5. CNC Piston Profiling Machines

The machines shown here utilize the new "master cam" to cut the piston profile and taper exactly per the Original Equipment specifications. The machine on the above is making the first, or "rough cut". The machine on the below is making the second and finish cuts, the last of which is a special patterned groove designed for a specific oil retention which prevents piston scuffing and seizing under all engine conditions. Large production runs are profiled automatically on the CNC Piston Manufacturing Line (see next page).
